I varied this in some small ways (reduced long list of herbs and spices to only sage, thyme, and cayenne; used less squash and less garlic; used mild Italian turkey sausage and only a pound of it because that's what was in the package; sauteed some chopped chard with the sausage; used a bag of "Four Cheese Italian Blend" for the mozzarella, and plain old shredded Parmesan from the supermarket for the rest). I used Barilla no-boil noodles and covered the dish for 50 minutes then baked 18 min more uncovered. Took it to a potluck where it ended up the only entree, and got rave reviews. Thanks for the great recipe!

That lasagna looks so good! I made a butternut squash lasagna a while ago and really enjoyed it. Next time I will have to add some sausage to it.

I think butternut squash, sausage and lasagna should be the new 'holy trinity'. Your version leaves me drooling.
