Just like during Strawberry Seduction, my mom, a regular reader of this blog, had to join in on the fun, but this time, for You Scream, I Scream, We All Scream for Frozen Dessert. So without a blog of her own and always resisting my pushing her to have one (since she loves reading the comments!
), I am hosting her ice cream entry here. So here is her entry without any further interruptions from me: Deadly Dark Chocolate Kahlua Brownie Chunk Ice Cream
Our family has always had a love for chocolate and Kahlua is out favorite drink, so why not combine the two for Michael’s desserts?
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 cups half and half
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 large egg yolks
- 9 ounces sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup Kahlua
- crumbled brownie chunks
Place the cocoa powder along with 1 cup of half and half into a medium saucepan over medium heat and whisk to combine. Add the remaining half and half and heavy

Some food combinations are a sure thing, and chocolate and raspberry is most definitely one of them. I chose to enjoy this classic flavor pairing with fresh raspberry ice cream, balled and formed into chocolate coated truffles of Raspberry Tartuffi.
I just happened to have a bunch of raspberries and no idea what to do with them (when good looking fruit is suddenly cheap, I impulsively grab and hoarde, get home, and then wonder wtf I can possibly do to get through all of this great fruit before it goes bad), so of course, why not ice cream?
For the sake of keeping things interesting, I thought that having a big bowl of ice cream is fun, but some times, you want something more finger food friendly…like an ice cream cone, ice cream sandwich, etc. So why not make a more sophisticated version of bon bons and take this delicious home-made ice cream and cover it with a firm, thin chocolate
